Music and artificial intelligence on April 6.

Fol’Icam is the project of the 3rd year students at Icam Nantes. This one-day festival will take place on Saturday April 6, 2024, at the Solilab on the Île de Nantes. The festival is divided into two parts.
The first was a free village open to the public on the theme of artificial intelligence and music. How has music evolved from the dawn of time to the present day, with the technologies at our disposal? And how does artificial intelligence impact on our daily lives, our society and music in particular ?
A number of speakers will be presenting these different themes on stands throughout the afternoon. Two food trucks will also be on hand for those with a sweet tooth, and a refreshment stand will be set up throughout the event !
The second part is aimed at students, although anyone over 18 is welcome! This time, admission is charged at €15 (the first 100 tickets are €13 !). This student festival is also divided into two parts.
The first part will take the form of a musical “springboard”. Several student artists from different Icam schools in Nantes will perform on the Fol’Icam stage in front of an expected audience of 900! There will then be a vote to elect the public’s favorite artist, who will be offered a prize of 200 euros, as well as a place to perform during the second part of the evening.
The second part of this student evening is a concert in which we’ll be welcoming various musical artists of different styles. These artists are :
- MLF, a talented house DJ who has played alongside Folamour
- EDGE, an up-and-coming French rapper with a poignant pen, who will bring his talent and experience to a powerful show !
- The brum, a DJ from Nantes with a techno, hard techno and psytrance style, will bring the evening to a close in style !
All these services will be provided by our partner and production company CParty! Experts in stage, light and sound production, we’re looking forward to a unique and breathtaking show. Lasers, LED screens and other impressive tools will embellish our artists’ performances !
The Fol’Icam 2024 has a name. The name ? The tesseract is a four-dimensional hypercube. Thanks to it, it would be possible to move not only in the 3 known dimensions of space, but also in time! We can catch a glimpse of this in films such as Interstellar, by the talented Christopher Nolan. It seems clear that our brains are incapable of understanding such things, which raises an aspect of transcendence.
That’s why we’ve chosen this name for our 2024 edition. A festival with a futuristic feel, with light and sound performances that give you the impression of swimming in a four-dimensional space !
The day’s program :
– 2pm – 5:30pm : Cultural Village
– 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm : Le Tremplin
– 8pm – 2am : The Evening
