Two teams from the Icam campuses in Toulouse and Grand Paris Sud attended the 10th edition of the “Cpas1option” seminar, which, like every year, aims to undertake concrete and effective actions for the prevention of addictive behaviors, risky behaviors, as well as harassment and gender-based and sexual violence (GBSV) within higher education institutions.

This initiative is initiated by the National Bureau of Engineering Students (BNEI), the Conference of Directors of French Engineering Schools (CDEFI), and the Conference of Grandes Écoles (CGE).

Cpas1option and its seminar are the result of collaborative work bringing together representatives of these entities, but also, and above all, student association leaders who work daily for student safety.

Each year, the prevention and awareness seminar constitutes the highlight of the initiative. For this new edition held on March 27th and 28th, 2023, over 280 staff members and students from higher education institutions gathered in Clermont-Ferrand to discuss issues related to student well-being.

According to Florian Trichaud, president of the BNEI, “we must go further and support our committed students.” The seminar was an opportunity to present, for the first year, an assessment of the monitoring indicators of the approach by the participating institutions and to exchange on a series of thematic topics such as integration and group effects, consent, the responsibility of event organizers and school directors, the fight against gender-based and sexual violence (GBSV), and the fight against risky behaviors.

The event allowed representatives of school administrations and student associations to express their viewpoints, provide testimonies, and raise questions about situations involving identified risky behaviors within their institutions.

Cpas1option 2023 concluded with the traditional signing of charters marking the commitment of each participating school to the prevention approach. In total, 87 institutions, including Icam, have signed the adherence charter to the approach.
