On October 15, 2023, was a special day at the Icam Production School in Grand Paris Sud, marked by two significant events: the diploma ceremony for the 2023 machining section (CAP CIP – Production Facilities Operator) and the inauguration of a brand-new section preparing for the Electrician CAP, symbolizing a key milestone in the growth of the Icam site in Grand Paris Sud.

To recap, the production school trains young people aged 15 to 18 who have not found their path in the traditional school system for industrial professions in demand, within a two-year program.

Students are divided into small study groups and dedicate 2/3 of their time to fulfilling orders for real clients. This gradual integration into professional life boosts their confidence, making them immediately employable upon graduation.

Official Inauguration of the Electricity Section, the Second Section at Icam, Grand Paris Sud Site

The day commenced with the inauguration of the new Electricity section, signifying a significant expansion of the school’s educational programs, providing students the opportunity to become qualified electricians. The inauguration was marked by the lighting of a symbolic illuminated panel, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between businesses, students, and professional instructors.

For this new CAP offered at the Icam Grand Paris Sud site, companies Eiffage Energie Systèmes and Derichebourg have committed to subcontracting, providing student internships, hiring young graduates, and participating in the school’s steering committee. The introduction of this electricity section addresses the needs of businesses, with electrical technicians listed among the top 15 in-demand professions in 2021, according to Dares.

100% Success for the 2023 CAP CIP Promotion

Following that, the diploma ceremony for the 2023 CAP CIP section took place, an existing section since 2017. Inspiring speeches and the overall success of the entire promotion created a moment of pride! This day represents a significant step in the growth of the Grand Paris Sud site, which will eventually accommodate 1000 learners, including 50 students in the production school.
