Improving quality of life at work : a shared priority !

Strasbourg-Europe
24 Jun 2024

On June 21, the Strasbourg-Europe site vibrated to the rhythm of a day entirely dedicated to Quality of Life at Work (QWL). This event, aimed at our 50 permanent employees, was part of an ambitious HR project designed to free up employees’ voices. The aim: to identify what needs to be kept, improved and changed to optimize their QWL on a daily basis, and over the long term.

A day rich in exchange and reflection

The morning began with a plenary session focusing on everyone’s personal QWL. During this session, employees were invited to carry out a self-diagnosis of their well-being at work. This introspection enabled everyone to better understand their needs and expectations in terms of QWL.

The rest of the day was devoted to workshops by business group. These working sessions offered a free and constructive forum for discussion, enabling each group to share its experiences and put forward concrete ideas for improving QWL.

Hybrid workshop: keep, modify, improve

The afternoon was marked by a hybrid workshop, bringing together all the groups to reflect together on the issues to be kept, modified and improved. The discussions were lively and rich, leading to concrete and relevant proposals for the future of our site.

The feedback was synthesized into three indicators (green/orange/red) to create a precise and relevant action plan, applicable over the medium and long term. This methodical approach ensures that the measures taken are in line with employees’ real needs.

Internal resources and commitment to SD&RS

In addition, a board in the break room has been updated with internal resources to boost QWL, thanks to post-it notes written by employees. This effort is also part of an SD&RS (Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility) approach, underlining the importance of QWL in our commitment to the SD&RS label.

“An innovative initiative, which will undoubtedly be rich in information and lessons for our future reflections and actions on the social responsibility axis of our DD&RS approach.”
Franck Cochez, Icam DD&RS Deputy Director

A promising initiative

If this pilot project in Strasbourg proves successful, we plan to extend it to all Icam sites in France. This ambition reflects our determination to place QWL at the heart of our HR strategy, for the well-being of all our employees.

The June 21 event was a resounding success, marking the start of a new era in which quality of working life is becoming a priority shared by all. We are convinced that these initiatives will contribute to a more fulfilling and productive working environment for everyone.
