Ateneo de Manila University welcomes Icam International Bachelor students for the first time, for their fourth year of courses (O3). This is an important step in the deployment of the Bachelor program at Ateneo.
This year, Manila joined the list of destinations open to students from the French campuses and the Ucac-Icam Institute in Douala. For this first academic year, 21 students were welcomed.
“Our approach is to share skills and expertise, and exchange practices in close proximity to companies. Professors and lecturers from Manila are fully integrated into the course of the year, also delivering distance courses on other Icam campuses, and are already participating in the implementation of the International Bachelor’s degree”, explains Alexandre Dufer, Secretary General and Deputy Managing Director of Icam.
The teaching teams at Icam and Ateneo have been working together for several months to adapt the Icam International Bachelor’s degree to meet the requirements of CHED (the Philippine accreditation body), which is expected to validate the program in the first quarter of 2024.
7th international campus
“From an academic partnership, we have built a true strategic alliance that will give rise to the implementation of the Bachelor’s degree on the Ateneo site. This alliance represents the 7th international campus on which Icam courses are deployed in co-management with the partner universities that host them. As with other existing alliances, we have offered the Rector of the University of Ateneo a seat on our Board of Directors as a sign of Icam’s deep commitment to these alliances,” explains Alexandre Dufer. We want the future of Icam to be written with our international partners!
The aim is to start recruiting Filipino students in September 2024, and welcome the first class of students in September 2025.
