Ampère ElectriCity is part of the Renault group, a French automobile manufacturer which owns 4 brands; Ampère, Dacia, Alpine, Mobilize.
The Douai, Maubeuge and Ruitz factories are the three Hauts de France entities of Ampère Electricity and manufacture Megane E-Tech Electric, Scénic E-Tech Electric, R5 Electric, Kangoo and gearboxes for hybrid vehicles.
Ampère Electricity was born on November 1, 2023. 2018 marked a turning point in the manufacturing of electric vehicles with the implementation of a new modular platform “CMF-EV” dedicated to the manufacturing of electric vehicles. Indeed, Ampère ElectriCity chose Douai to manufacture its new electric car, the R5, which will continue the history of Megane E tech, the flagship model of the range for 25 years and bring it into modernity.
Dedicated to manufacturing the diamond-shaped brand’s future electric vehicles, the factory is fully committed to the development of sustainable mobility for all. Through the implementation of its environmental policy, the site also contributes daily to reducing its carbon footprint and the health impacts of its operations.
