Services to Businesses [S2B]
One of Icam’s pillars and strengths is its strong links to industries and companies, ensuring an applied and practical learning experience to its students. The Services to Businesses (S2B) Department aims to develop and reinforce the industrial and professional culture within Icam’s educational programs.
S2B is constantly re-defining its collaborations and growing its database of industry partners.
How S2B connects Icam’s students to the professional world
- Co-working and co-education : Icam collaborates with its industry partners to bring industry practices, and company skills and experiences, into the various teaching modules. Conferences and courses are delivered by industry representatives in various areas such as management, business, entrepreneurship, energy, transport, IT, …
- Project-based activities : Partner companies use and guide Icam’s R&D capabilities and expertise, offering thesis topics or projects that Icam students can work on during their stay in Icam, either in the form of internships or thesis topics.
- Job fair: S2B provides networking opportunities between the companies and its students through various platforms (forum, job dating, 4th year profi project, jobteaser platform, etc.)
What S2B brings to Icam students, staff and faculty.
- Professionalization through consulting activities and R&D projects. Working on real-life problem situations enables students to take on the role of engineers, capable of conducting concrete and technical projects.
- S2B also provides coaching to students via its project managers, providing the tools and methodology needed to transition from the academic world to the professional world.
- Continuous update of educational modules and programs: By facilitating the constant exchange between Icam and its industry partners, Icam’s staff and faculty are continuously exposed to evolving trends and practices in technology and industries of the future. These are fed into Icam’s modules and educational programs.
- Contribution to Icam’s solvency. S2B gets funding for the services offered to its industry partners. Funds raised are used by Icam to invest in laboratories, infrastructure, and other resources needed to ensure good quality education to Icam’s students.
- Fostering collaborative and remote work practices: Given the scattered geographical locations of Icam’s campuses and industry partners, S2B adapts and implements remote work practices that facilitate collaboration while using efficient use of time and travel resources.
