26 Jun 2025

The Icam campus in Strasbourg hosted over 150 participants—researchers, faculty members, PhD students, industry professionals, and academic partners—on June 18 and 19 for the Icam International Research Days 2025 (2IRD2).
The event was organized in partnership with Hochschule Offenburg, the ICube Laboratory, the Charles Sadron Institute, the University of Strasbourg, and the France 2030 initiative.

Strengthening Synergies Around Major Research Challenges

Featuring conferences, themed workshops, and international project presentations, the event provided a platform to exchange ideas, share visions, and build stronger synergies around major research challenges. The common thread: sustainable development and innovation that respects both humanity and the environment.

The first day, focused on international cooperation, featured workshops on biomechanics, digital transition, social responsibility in science and research, and energy.
The second day was dedicated to “Industrial Transition for the Factory of the Future,” with the participation of six corporate partners: SEW USOCOME, Mars Petcare, Socomec Group, Soprema Group, Merck Life Science, and SCHMIDT Groupe. (To learn more, see the full program here.)

“This year’s event strengthened our conviction that research at Icam is more open, collaborative, and outward-looking than ever,” said Grégoire Chabrol, Director of Research at Icam Strasbourg-Europe and coordinator of the 2IRD2.

A heartfelt thank-you to all the participants, the teams across Icam campuses, and the university and industry partners who brought their expertise and commitment to the richness of these exchanges—making 2IRD2 an outstanding event.

After Toulouse in 2023 and Strasbourg in 2025, we’ll see you in Lille in 2027 for the 2IRD3!
