Entrepreneurship at Icam
At Icam, entrepreneurship is at the heart of the future of future engineers: whether to create their own structure, or to cultivate an “intrapreneur” dynamic in business, young graduates will have to compete with energy and creativity to meet the economic challenges of tomorrow.
For more than 10 years, Icam has been offering students of its engineering courses to improve their knowledge of the company through experiences of business creation.
We are implementing the educational modules that will enable our graduates to adopt an entrepreneurial posture, including within large companies, and to initiate the changes necessary for economic development in the service of man.
Whether it’s “mini-business” projects, business creation projects or participation in Entrepreneurship, these experiences allow students to learn through experimentation. This approach contributes to the development of know-how and know how to be that they can implement in their professional life.
A strengthened programme for project owners
Icam offers specific support for project owners and project owners for a period of two years, starting in the 4th year.
It aims to accompany Icam engineering students who wish to do so, to think on the one hand about the entrepreneurial project: what is it to be an entrepreneur? Do I project myself into this function? How do You become one? What does it mean to become an entrepreneur? And on the other hand develop a project from an idea by going as far as the realization of a functional prototype.
In the fifth and final year, students devote the first semester to the development of their project, including the construction of a prototype, in place of the Industrial Scientific Memory. During the last six months, we offer them an internship in an incubator. The goal is to enable our student entrepreneurs to test their idea and customer need as quickly and cheaply as possible; all before they finish their studies.
Entrepreneurship in pedagogy
As part of the development of its pedagogy, Icam organized in 2017 its development council on the theme of entrepreneurship. The opportunity for the school to gather around this theme students, collaborators, teachers, graduates and experts for a day of work and exchanges.
