Our Female Students Rank Icam 5th in the Happy at School® “Focus Women” Ranking
Icam
11 Mar 2026
Icam confirms its attractiveness to female students by climbing to 5th place in the Happy at School® “Focus Women” 2026 ranking, in the category of schools with 1,000 students or more. A strong recognition, following 1st place in the overall Happy at School® 2025 ranking. These results demonstrate the quality of life and study conditions on our campuses and ICAM’s commitment to the personal and professional development of all our students, with particular attention paid to supporting our female students.

Fulfilled Female Students and Women in Engineering
The survey conducted by ChooseMyCompany, unveiled on March 6 on International Women’s Rights Day, gives voice to female students about their experience and well-being within their school.

This 5th place, with a significant improvement of 4 positions, confirms that our female students feel comfortable and fulfilled, and that they also feel they belong in this engineering path.
Assia ARICHI, a first-year work-study student, shares her experience in an interview conducted by Thotis, available here.
The paths of many Icam alumnae, with particularly inspiring trajectories, also illustrate this, including:
- Gabrielle Vernier, captain of the French women’s rugby team, mechanical design engineer
- Françoise Brougher, strategic leader in international High Tech
- Valérie Vausselin, co-founder of Aroma-Zone
Gender Diversity: A Strategic Priority for Icam
At Icam, increasing the number of women in engineering programs is a long-term educational priority: transforming educational environments to encourage young women’s projection and engagement in science. Depending on campus and program, at Icam, young women represent up to 30 to 40% of first-year enrollments (data from the 2025 academic year).
How does Icam commit?
- Through a more open pathway to engineering education that responds to the expectations of
female high school students: the International Bachelor - Through awareness-raising actions on our campuses (Objectif Femmes Ingénieures at the Brittany campus, dedicated workshops for female high school students at the Strasbourg-Europe campus, Global Women Breakfast at the Toulouse campus, Challenge Innovatech-Elles Bougent at the Lille campus, etc.) or as part of programs such as Cordées de la Réussite
- Through mobilization in preventing sexual and gender-based violence
- Through active participation in existing networks in our regions: Elles Bougent, Femmes Ingénieurs…
- Through the recognition of gender diversity as a pillar of the school’s five-year strategic plan
“Young women lack neither the ability nor the interest in science. What makes the difference are the educational environments in which they are offered to engage,” points out Carole Marsella, Deputy General Director of Icam.
