Context:
The teaching activity in the open course uses active teaching methods, at the heart of which experience plays a very important role. In the context of materials education, few tools are available for shaping metal alloy parts.
Project description:
The project aims to evaluate the feasibility of manufacturing aluminum alloy foundry prototypes, using the tools already available in the department and/or in the neighboring Techshop. The project will focus on the fabrication of molds (usable materials, associated constraints, cost), as well as the handling of molten metal (constraints and safety equipment). A demonstrator will have to be realized.
Report and analysis of opportunities and difficulties, demonstrator, (CAD files part and mold).
