CarMa – Caractérisation des Matériaux

General presentation of the platform

The Materials Characterization Platform (CarMa) is a facility dedicated to analyzing and evaluating material properties in order to better understand their behavior and optimize their development. It supports research, innovation, and quality control by linking manufacturing processes with material performance.
CarMa also provides services to businesses, addressing their needs regarding characterization, testing, technical expertise, and material improvement. It thus serves as a bridge between research and industry, fostering innovation and enhancing material performance.

Objectives

The CarMa platform aims to characterize materials in order to understand and improve their properties, support applied research, and foster innovation. It also meets the needs of companies regarding material testing, validation, and optimization.

Perimeter

CarMa covers the study of metallic, polymeric, composite, and ceramic materials across various scales (macro, micro, and structural). It addresses the stages of shaping, processing, analysis, and performance.

Equipments

The platform is equipped with facilities for manufacturing, heat treatment, sample preparation, microstructural analysis, and chemical, thermal, and mechanical characterization, as well as devices for measuring physical properties and durability.

Expertises

The CarMa team possesses expertise in materials science, metallurgy, polymers and composites, thermal and mechanical analysis, and advanced characterization. It supports academic and industrial projects, particularly within the framework of providing services to companies and facilitating technology transfer.
