Admissions 2026: The Countdown Has Begun for UJA-Icam’s First Intake!
International
13 Apr 2026
In a few months, UJA-Icam will open its doors in Abidjan, welcoming its very first cohort of engineering students. The entire team is fully mobilised to make this first intake a success. The school’s ambition is to train responsible, open-minded engineers who are firmly grounded in local realities, in service of the continent’s sustainable development. This commitment also aligns fully with the framework of the French Council of Investors in Africa (CIAN), of which Icam is a member.

Two Engineering Programmes at the Heart of Local Economic Needs
From September 2026, UJA-Icam will offer two general engineering programmes, validated at the first Advisory Board meeting held on 29 January:
- Process Engineer (5-year programme): specifically designed for the processing industries;
- Industrial Engineering & Management Engineer (5 or 6-year programme), via two bachelor’s pathways — “Innovation and Technical Design”, based on active learning methods, and “Industrial Optimisation and Performance”, designed to give students both practical and theoretical experience.
Both programmes directly address the need to train multidisciplinary engineers, particularly in the energy, mining and automation sectors, and respond to the demands of companies seeking profiles that combine strong technical skills with the soft skills that are a cornerstone of Icam’s teaching philosophy.
UJA-Icam will also offer individuals and companies a continuing education general engineering programme in partnership with Institut Ucac-Icam in Douala.
Significant Partnerships and Major Local Stakeholders On Board
Several major players have already joined the project, convinced of its relevance for Côte d’Ivoire and the wider region, and of the strength of Icam’s educational model.
On the academic side, on 5 February 2026, INP-HB (Institut National Polytechnique Félix Houphouët-Boigny) and Icam signed a framework cooperation agreement — a landmark partnership aimed at strengthening engineering education in the country. It covers the sharing of expertise, access to laboratory equipment, student and staff mobility, and the development of joint training programmes.
On the industry side, Neemba, Solibra, SAPH, the Club Abidjan Ville Durable and W.E Consulting participated in the first Advisory Board meeting, contributing to aligning the programmes with the realities of the Ivorian market.

UJA-Icam is also proud to announce its first partnerships with three industry leaders who are joining us in our mission to train a skilled workforce and build the future of engineering in Côte d’Ivoire:
- Neemba, a major player in the mining, construction and energy sectors in Côte d’Ivoire for over 40 years.
- 2I Ivoire Ingénierie, a leading construction company in Côte d’Ivoire across the agri-food, industrial, commercial and service sectors for over 50 years.
- GVA (Groupe Vivendi Africa), a subsidiary of the Vivendi group and a telecoms operator specialising in Very High-Speed internet access in Africa, present in Abidjan since 2020.
Strong Momentum: The Careers and Guidance Train Is Moving
In recent weeks, UJA-Icam has conducted an active outreach campaign targeting Ivorian secondary school students. Teams have visited schools across Côte d’Ivoire to meet prospective candidates, present the programmes, explain Icam’s teaching approach and outline the career opportunities available to them.

Choosing UJA-Icam means investing in a journey where learning happens both in the classroom and in the workplace.
