Wonderful Days of Sharing at the Open House Events

The Icam teams were highly engaged from November 2024 to March 2025 for the Open House events, a crucial occasion for young students making their educational choices and for the Icam recruitment process. Meetings and discussions are at the heart of our commitment, guided by the school’s long-standing philosophy: “choosing Icam and being chosen by Icam.” In a word: human connection !

 

Welcomed by students, teachers, alumni, and Icam staff, prospective students and their families had the opportunity to explore the school, its unique pedagogy, its international reach, and its diverse programs. Icam fosters an environment where innovation, boldness, creativity, and teamwork thrive daily.

Team Mobilization Across Campuses

During these Open House events, visitors were able to tour the campuses and explore key facilities such as classrooms, hands-on training spaces, research platforms, dining areas, student residences, student life hubs, and the Student Union (BDE). It was also a great opportunity to meet and exchange with current students, who shared their experiences and the scientific and human adventure they are living at Icam.

In total, 4,918 prospective students were welcomed across our campuses:
– Western campuses (Brittany, Nantes, Vendée): 1,159 high school students and applicants met;
– Grand Paris Sud campus : 415 high school students met;
– Lille campus : 1,079 high school students met;
– Strasbourg-Europe campus : 164 high school students met;
– Toulouse campus : 708 prospective students;
– Douala campus : 615 visitors from 15 different schools in Douala…
– Pointe-Noire campus : 777 high school students.

A Recruitment Process Focused on People

These Open House events play a crucial role in helping students explore engineering careers and understand the Icam admissions process.

Admission to Icam is based on an application via Parcoursup (or through an entrance exam for our Ucac-Icam Institute campuses — registration deadline: May 5, 2025), followed by two individual interviews, which began on April 14, 2025. These interviews are more like conversations, reflecting our guiding philosophy: “to choose and to be chosen.”
“What does that mean?” explains Gilles Vandecaveye, General Director of Icam. “It means the selection process goes both ways. While we carefully choose our students, we are equally attentive to ensuring that candidates choose us for the right reasons.” A strong emphasis is placed on aligning each student’s profile with the spirit of Icam, which values academic achievement as much as human and community engagement.

It is also possible to join Icam at Bac+2/Bac+3 (second or third year of university)! The recruitment process is now entering its third and final phase: Decision.

Every year, across our 13 campuses in Lille, Grand Paris Sud, Nantes, Brittany, Vendée, Toulouse, Strasbourg-Europe, Pointe-Noire (Congo), Douala (Cameroon), Kinshasa (DRC), Chennai (India), Recife (Brazil), and Quito (Ecuador), nearly 10,000 students embark on a unique experience at Icam!
