Higher Education
26 May 2026
Over the course of the year, students in 4e and 3e from Henri Wallon Middle School in Savigny-le-Temple and Saint-Louis Middle School in Lieusaint collaborated with engineering students from Icam’s Grand Paris Sud campus to build a drone.
They were able to explore electronics, mechanics, computer science, and several Fablab software programs and tools (3D printers, laser cutter, etc.) through a number of joint working sessions. They also learned to work in project mode, developing both people skills (soft skills)—such as communication, teamwork, and autonomy—as well as technical skills (hard skills) related to scientific and digital fields.

This project was carried out as part of the national Cordées de la Réussite program, run by Icam since 2021, which aims to introduce young middle school students to science and digital technology and to give them the desire and ambition to pursue higher education.
✨ This year:
🎓 18 Icam students got involved throughout the year to mentor the middle schoolers.
🏫 The project brought together 16 students from Saint-Louis Middle School and 23 students from Henri Wallon Middle School.
👧👦 Among the 39 participating middle schoolers, 24 were girls, with some promising scientific vocations already taking shape!
🏆 New features of this edition: a professional jury, trophies awarded to each school, and an afternoon dedicated to public-speaking preparation, with a session led by professional coach Gabrielle Rivault.
The project’s closing ceremony took place on Thursday, 21 May, attended by the middle schoolers’ families, their teachers, and principals, as well as Michel Bisson, Mayor of Lieusaint, and Jean-Daniel Cannenpasse-Riffard, First Deputy Mayor of Savigny-le-Temple, in charge of active solidarity and housing, and community councillor.
A big thank you to the Grand Paris Sud agglomeration and the Île-de-France Region for their support on this project.
