First academic year begins on October 5
On the Cocody campus in Abidjan, anticipation is building: entrance exam results are in, and the very first students are getting ready to start on October 5.
“Seeing this first class come together is the culmination of a project that has been years in the making,” says Father Épiphane Kinhoun SJ, Deputy Managing Director of Icam, Africa Coordination. “These students will be the pioneers of a campus built to meet the training needs of the entire sub-region for years to come.”
Founded on November 5, 2025 by the Université Jésuite d’Abidjan (UJA) and Icam, UJA-Icam becomes the 15th Icam campus worldwide and the group’s 4th in Africa, following Pointe-Noire (Republic of Congo), Douala (Cameroon) and Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of Congo).
The school’s ambition: to train a new generation of engineers and technicians who combine recognized technical skills with strong ethical grounding, to support West Africa’s industrial development.
Two engineering programs designed for Ivorian industry
For the 2026–2027 academic year, UJA-Icam is launching two programs:
- Process Engineering, a 5-year program tailored to process and manufacturing industries;
- Industrial Engineering & Management, a 5- or 6-year program, for a versatile, technically grounded profile.
A third track, a general engineering program for continuing education, will complete the school’s offering in the future.

UJA-Icam’s teaching model, built on the interplay of theory, practice and industrial immersion, is backed by the support of several major companies established in Côte d’Ivoire: Schneider Electric, Briand Group, Ocean SA, Neemba (formerly JA Delmas), SPIH, Groupe Canal+ Côte d’Ivoire, and SOLIBRA (a Castel Group subsidiary).
Their commitment reflects the confidence of Ivorian businesses in the school’s ability to train graduates suited to their needs.
A stronger school-industry synergy, backed by an advisory board
This opening builds on Icam’s long-standing presence in Central Africa, where the group has operated for 24 years, driven by the same determination to actively contribute to the continent’s development.
Icam’s membership in the Conseil français des investisseurs en Afrique (CIAN), a major network bringing together companies, professional associations and institutions working on the continent’s economic development, reflects this commitment and strengthens its ties with Africa’s economic fabric.
